The chapter was opened in the usual manner by the three principals, Alan Boyle first principal, acting second principal David Hawkes and Stephen Cornwell third principal. Once the initial business of the chapter had been conducted, Alan Boyle invited John Leisk to occupy the first principals chair for the exaltation ceremony. John asked principal sojourner John Jackson to retire and entrust the candidate.

John re-entered the chapter with the candidate and the ceremony proceeded. John led Sabar through the exaltation in a dignified manner and was ably assisted by first assistant sojourner Mike Cunliffe.

On completion of the ceremony Sabar was then taken to a position in the west, were John Leisk gave a flawless explanation of the signs.

The ceremony of exaltation being completed, Alan Boyle resumed his seat as first principal. The three principals congratulated Sabar and formally welcomed him into the chapter, hoping he would have many happy years of companionship in the chapter.

Alan Boyle thanked everyone that took part in the ceremony. Alan gave a special mention to John Leisk and John Jackson for their part in the ceremony.

Woolton Group Vice Chairman Mike Cunliffe and Sabar’s proposer, congratulated and welcomed Sabar into the chapter and presented him with an information booklet on the Royal Arch.

After the remaining business of the evening was completed, the chapter was closed and the companions retired to the festive board for a very enjoyable meal and good company.
